SUNTEK PET LLC ANNOUNCES EXPANSION AND 30 NEW JOBS IN DUBLIN-LAURENS COUNTY

Dublin, GA, September 21, 2016 – 2016 has been a record setting year for economic development in Dublin-Laurens County. Today, SunTek Pet LLC is announcing an expansion to their existing pet food manufacturing operations in the community. The company originated in 2014 from a newly formed joint venture between Hi-Tek Rations based in Dublin, Georgia and Sunshine Mills, Inc. based in Red Bay, Alabama.  Sun-Tek Pet produces and distributes high quality dog and cat food for its owners with volume this year set to exceed 90 million pounds.

Dublin, GA, May 19, 2016 - Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Polymer Logistics, a retail ready packaging company, will create 110 new jobs and invest more than $4 million in Laurens County. The company will locate its next U.S.-based logistics and distribution center in Dublin.

Dublin, GA, May 17th, 2016 – TriStar Aerial Lift and Equipment Sales, Inc., an authorized equipment dealer to various manufacturers announces its location in Downtown Dublin, Georgia. The family owned business with over 33 years of experience in the equipment industry will create over 30 jobs over 5 years in the community and will invest $1 million in its launch of new divisions at their Dublin facility that will include signage, equipment servicing, refurbish/reconditioning equipment, painting booth, and a rental center.

DEAL: VALMIERA GLASS TO CREATE 425 JOBS IN LAURENS COUNTY

Jan. 25, 2016 – ATLANTA, GA - Gov. Nathan Deal announced today that Valmiera Glass Group, a Latvian-based fiberglass manufacturer, will expand their U.S.-based headquarters operation in Dublin. This project will create 425 jobs and generate an overall investment of $90 million through 2022.

LAURENS COUNTY AND PLUM CREEK ANNOUNCE GEORGIA'S FIRST DUAL-CERTIFIED MEGA SITE/SUPER PARK

Nov. 30, 2015 - DUBLIN, Ga. – The Heart of Georgia Mega Site, a 2,000-acre industrial site located in Laurens County, is now the state’s first certified Mega Site/Super Park, ready to attract industries and support job creation. The certification by McCallum Sweeney Consulting (MSC), a nationally recognized expert in site selection, means the location was rigorously analyzed for several factors to ensure the land is “shovel-ready.” The site is also the only one in the country to receive the Mega Site/Super Park dual-certification.

HEART OF GEORGIA MEGA SITE FIRST TO RECEIVE GRAD DESIGNATION IN DUBLIN-LAURENS COUNTY

June 11, 2015 - DUBLIN, Ga. – The Heart of Georgia Mega Site, a 2,000-acre industrial park in Laurens County, is now designated as the first Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) site in the county. The certification by the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) means the site is market-ready to support commercial development of large-scale facilities, such as warehouse, manufacturing and distribution centers.

DUBLIN-LAURENS COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY HIRES MARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS COORDINATOR

Dublin, GA, April 28, 2015 – The Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority hired Beatriz Lleras as the full-time Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator on February 23, 2015. Ms. Lleras is a product of the Dublin City Schools system and is a recent graduate of the University of Georgia, where she double majored in Communication Studies and Romance Languages.  Ms. Lleras will focus primarily on marketing to targeted industry sectors throughout the world and assisting the Development Authority with public relations and communications strategies.  She will also manage the Authority’s website, social media platforms, and event planning responsibilities.

VALMIERA GLASS USA CORP RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY PRESS RELEASE

Dublin, GA,  March 26, 2015 – The Honorable Latvian Ambassador to the United States, Andris Razāns and the Mayor of Valmiera, the Honorable Jānis Baiks, joined state and local officials today to celebrate the ribbon cutting and dedicate a new 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility that will serve as the North American headquarters of Valmiera Glass USA Corp.  The project, which Georgia Governor Nathan Deal announced in July of 2014 will consist of 150 new jobs in Laurens County and a capital investment of $20 million.  In the initial press release, Governor Deal noted, “This project represents the first substantial investment from  Latvia – one of the Baltic States, which underscores the fact that Georgia’s thriving automotive and aerospace industries are gaining attention in the international marketplace.”        

DUBLIN-LAURENS COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND LOCAL OFFICIALS TO HOST GDECD’S INTERNATIONAL REPS

DUBLIN-LAURENS COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY ACQUIRES 331 ACRE STRATEGIC RAIL-SERVED SITE

Dublin, GA,  February 26, 2015 - After due diligence and long-term planning, the Dublin-Laurens County Development Authority (DLCDA) elected to proceed with the purchase of a 331 acre industrial tract at the intersection of GA Hwy 257 and US Hwy 441 Bypass. The acquisition will provide the community with a rail-served site to offer potential industrial clients interested in locating in Laurens County. Prior to the acquisition, the Authority did not own any property available with rail connectivity. The recent success in locating Erdrich USA, Inc. and Valmiera Glass USA Corp. in the Development Authority’s I-16 Industrial Park was another factor that contributed to the need to secure additional property to market. 

GERMAN-BASED DIE MAKING COMPANY CREATES 52 JOBS IN LAURENS COUNTY

ATLANTA – October 31, 2014 – The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today announced that AWEBA Group, one of the largest and most advanced die-making enterprises in Europe, will establish its first North American headquarters in Dublin, creating 52 jobs and investing $6 million into a die-making facility over the next five years.
